ASK THE PROFESSIONALS

We provide information and  hair care techniques to keep you in the know. If you have a question for us, please submit your question below. If you would rather call or email us—that is fine too.

Is your hair stylist truly a colorist?

Questions to ask:

Should hair be washed before any chemical treatment? Absolutely.  Especially before coloring, Perming and most smoothing systems. Hair should always be washed with a dematerializing or clarifying shampoo and towel dried, This not only will allow for maximum color retention but also will prevent any residue of shampoos and other styling products deposited on the scalp to react with ammonia in color, preventing off tones and irritation to the scalp.

In deciding on any color, a stylist must be well informed on how capable the client is in the home care of her hair, and should be educated on styling techniques and the proper use of products; Great consideration should be given to the clients' hair type, texture, and most of all lifestyle.

What is their profession?

What activities do you do? Swimming? Chlorine? Saltwater? These make an impact on how the color will hold up and how to care for it in these conditions. Understanding the proper Ph of hair and products being used is very critical.

Ask your hair stylist what products do they use to replenish the essential fatty acids in the hair that gets destroyed during a chemical process?

My extensive training and experience in this specific area of hair coloring is what gives me the edge and provides for great and consistent results. This training is evident by the long list of repeat visits by our valued and educated clients. And mostly, can your friends and coworkers see the difference?

Are you getting compliments on the style and beauty of your hair?

Our work is our passion; we strive to achieve great results every time and continue to do so until we are satisfied. We do this by approaching each client individually and tailor a process that achieves the finest results every time.

We use the finest products in the industry, not necessarily the most expensive or overly advertised.  We are the experts, and we understand and know what works. In the color industry, there is no such thing as completely organic, but we do strive to work with the most environmentally responsible products, and yes many of them are manufactured right here in New England and Canada. We aim to buy locally manufactured products that have the highest standards and employ local people. ~ Pino
